VIALET obtains Mastercard Principal Membership License
VIA SMS Group is pleased to announce that one of its daughter companies, VIALET holding the electronic money institution license issued by the Lithuanian Central Bank has deepened its long term cooperation with Mastercard by obtaining a Principal Membership License allowing to issue Mastercard payment cards and acquire e-commerce card transactions across the EEA region.
VIALET has been operating as a digital payments platform and an e-wallet system both for retail and business customers with an aim to make the management of personal finances easy and accessible for everyone. Following the issuance of the Principal Membership License, VIALET announces new, more aggressive customer acquiring strategy to increase its acceptance footprint across the EEA region by expanding its merchant acceptance network, including the e-commerce channel. Currently, Mastercard payments cards are widely accepted worldwide, so the development of strategically important partnership between Mastercard and VIALET will give VIALET’s clients the potential to attract more cardmembers to their businesses and eventually increase their online sales.
