Chief Accountant

VIA SMS Group is an alternative financial services provider operating across the Europe and Asia-Pacific. Since the company launch, it has expanded its operations to 8 countries and has grown into a versatile fintech enterprise offering simple and accessible financial solutions under various brand names. We are currently looking for an organized and driven Chief Accountant to join our growing team of professionals in the Finance Department.

What we expect from you:

• You have gained professional experience in a similar position
• You have practical experience with IFRS standards
• Good proficiency of Russian, English and Latvian languages (written and spoken)
• You excel in analytical thinking, and you’re proactive and flexible
• You are able to work independently, while effectively delegating and remotely managing your team
• You’re able to maximize the benefits of technology, in order to acquire and process information
• Experience with Navision will be considered an advantage
• Computer skills at an advanced user level (MS Office, MS Excel)

What you will do:

• Manage and control accounting processes in VIA SMS Group, its subsidiaries and related companies
• Provide full accounting cycle of VIA SMS Group related companies and support the Chief Financial Officer of the group
• Prepare consolidated and stand alone financial statements in conformity with international and local standards
• Develop and implement accounting policies and processes in line with international and local standards
• Ensure efficient auditing and financial reporting
• Manage and consult remote team of accountants and ensure efficient communication between group entities
